Collection: Sultanabad Oushak Rugs — Hand-Knotted Palmette Collection

One iconic design, ten colorways. Our Sultanabad Oushak collection reinterprets the most-loved allover palmette design in Oushak weaving — a graceful lattice of angular vines, oversized palmettes and rosettes framed by a bold turtle-and-palmette border — in ten fresh color stories, from soft lavender and seafoam to rich rust, coral and navy.

Every rug is 100% handmade and hand-knotted — every single knot tied by hand — by master weavers in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of India, using 100% pure New Zealand wool at 90–100 knots per square inch. Choose from 31 sizes: rectangles from 2x3 to 12x18 ft, round and square rugs from 4x4 to 8x8 ft, and hallway runners up to 3x15 ft. Custom sizes and colors are welcome, and interior designers can ask for trade pricing.

Why this design works

  • Timeless pattern: the Sultanabad-style allover layout has no single center, so it looks right from every side of the room — under a dining table, a sofa grouping or a bed.
  • Same design, your palette: pick the colorway that matches your walls and furniture — warm neutrals, soft pastels or deep jewel tones.
  • Built to last: dense hand-knotted wool pile, no glued backing, and the fringe is the rug's own warp threads.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Sultanabad Oushak rug?
It is a classic allover design of large palmettes linked by angular vines, made famous by 19th-century workshops and loved for its relaxed, open look. Ours are woven by hand in this traditional style in new colorways.

How long does delivery take?
Each rug is made to order and usually arrives in about 25–30 days, including weaving, finishing and shipping.

Can I get a custom size or color?
Yes. Send us your measurements and color ideas and we will weave the design to suit your room.
