A dusty mauve-rose field framed by a deep teal and jade green border, with sage, mustard and indigo palmettes — this hand-knotted Sultanabad Oushak rug is 100% pure New Zealand wool, every knot tied by hand by master weavers in Bhadohi-Mirzapur, India.
Why This Rug Works in Your Room
- A designer color pairing: muted mauve and rich teal-green is a sophisticated, slightly moody combination that feels collected and current — ideal for dining rooms, studies and bedrooms.
- Layered jewel accents: mustard gold, indigo, sage and cream palmettes add warmth and depth across the field.
- The classic Sultanabad pattern: large palmettes linked by angular vines form an open allover lattice that looks balanced under a round or rectangular table.
Perfect For Every Room
Dining room: a 9x12 or 10x14 lets chairs slide out without catching the edge; an 8x8 round suits a round table. Living room: an 8x10 or 9x12 anchors a sofa and two chairs. Bedroom: a 6x9 under a queen bed, an 8x10 under a king. Entryway: a 3x5 or 4x6. Hallway and kitchen: a 2.5x10 or 3x15 runner.
Handmade Craftsmanship
Each rug takes about 45 days and 10 stages to make — design graphing, wool washing and dyeing, knotting on the loom, clipping, washing, stretching and finishing. Every single knot is tied by hand at 90–100 KPSI for a dense, durable pile. We use only 100% pure New Zealand wool, prized for its natural lustre and softness. The fringe is the rug's own warp threads, and there is no glued backing, so the rug breathes and lies flat. Natural abrash — slight shade variation across the field — is the signature of a genuine hand-knotted rug.

FAQs
Is this rug 100% wool and truly hand-knotted?
Yes. It is 100% pure New Zealand wool with no synthetic fibers or blends, and every knot is tied by hand. It is not hand-tufted, power-loomed or printed.
What size rug do I need under a dining table?
Allow about 24–30 inches beyond each table edge so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. A 9x12 fits most 6–8 seat tables; an 8x8 round suits a 48–60 inch round table.
Can I order this design in a custom size or color?
Yes — we can weave this Sultanabad Oushak in any size, including oversized rugs above 12x18 ft, and adjust the colors to your project.
