Bold crimson splashes burst across a clean ivory field in this statement art rug — hand-tufted in 100% pure New Zealand wool by skilled artisans.

Why This Rug Works in Your Room

  • A true piece of floor art — the red paint-splash design becomes the focal point of the room.
  • The quiet ivory ground keeps the drama controlled, so the rug feels gallery-like rather than busy.
  • Crimson red ties in easily with red art, cushions, ceramics or a single red accent chair.

Perfect For Every Room

In living rooms, an 8x10 or 9x12 sets a gallery mood under a white or grey sofa. In bedrooms, a 5x8 at the foot of the bed adds energy to a calm room. In home offices and studios, a 5x7 or 6x9 under the desk makes a creative statement. In entryways, a 3x5 is an unforgettable welcome.

Handmade Craftsmanship

This rug is 100% handmade by hand-tufting in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur rug belt of India. Our artisans draw the design onto a foundation cloth stretched on a frame, then punch every strand of 100% pure New Zealand wool through the cloth by hand with a tufting tool. When tufting is complete, the back is coated with latex and a secondary cloth backing is glued on to lock the pile firmly in place. Finally, the pile is hand-clipped so each splash and drip keeps a sharp, painterly edge. The ivory field carries a soft natural sheen and gentle tonal variation — a sign of true handwork, not a defect.

Made to Order & Delivery

Every rug is made to order. From order to your door takes about 25-30 days (tufting, backing, finishing and shipping to the USA).

Care

Vacuum regularly without a beater bar and rotate the rug every 6 months for even wear. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub. Keep the rug dry: do not soak, steam-clean or wet-wash it, as excess moisture can damage the latex backing. Light shedding in the first few weeks is normal for a new tufted wool pile and settles with regular vacuuming. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner experienced with hand-tufted rugs. Use a non-slip rug pad underneath.

FAQs

Is the design exactly like the photo?
Yes, the design is drawn onto the foundation cloth from this artwork and hand-tufted to match. Because every rug is handmade, each splash may vary very slightly — making your rug one of a kind.

Can I get the splash in another colour?
Yes. We can hand-tuft this design in navy, black, emerald or any colour you choose — contact us for a custom order.

Is this rug 100% wool and handmade?
Yes. The pile is 100% pure New Zealand wool with no other fiber, and the rug is handmade by hand-tufting — our artisans punch every strand through the foundation cloth by hand. It is not machine-made.

What is the difference between hand-tufted and hand-knotted?
A hand-knotted rug is built knot by knot on a loom and has no glued backing. A hand-tufted rug, like this one, is made by punching wool through a foundation cloth with a hand-held tufting tool, then finished with a latex and cloth backing. Tufting allows bold, free-flowing art designs like this splash.
