Deep navy, ocean teal and misty ivory flow together like watercolour on canvas, lifted by a single spark of ochre — hand-tufted in 100% pure New Zealand wool by skilled artisans.

Why This Rug Works in Your Room

  • The layered blues bring a calm, coastal depth that feels both modern and artistic.
  • A small ochre accent adds warmth and gives you a colour to pick up in brass, mustard or gold decor.
  • Soft watercolour edges hide everyday wear, making it practical for busy family living rooms.

Perfect For Every Room

In living rooms, an 8x10 or 9x12 anchors a white, grey or cognac sofa. In bedrooms, a 6x9 or 8x10 under the bed brings a restful, ocean mood. In dining rooms, a 9x12 or 10x14 works under a round or oval table. In home offices, a 5x8 adds colour without distraction.

Handmade Craftsmanship

This rug is 100% handmade by hand-tufting in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur rug belt of India. Our artisans draw the design onto a foundation cloth stretched on a frame, then punch every strand of 100% pure New Zealand wool through the cloth by hand with a tufting tool, blending the blues shade by shade. When tufting is complete, the back is coated with latex and a secondary cloth backing is glued on to lock the pile firmly in place. Finally, the pile is hand-clipped to give the colour washes a soft, painterly blend. Gentle natural tonal variation in the dyed wool deepens the watercolour effect — a sign of true handwork, not a defect.

Made to Order & Delivery

Every rug is made to order. From order to your door takes about 25-30 days (tufting, backing, finishing and shipping to the USA).

Care

Vacuum regularly without a beater bar and rotate the rug every 6 months for even wear. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub. Keep the rug dry: do not soak, steam-clean or wet-wash it, as excess moisture can damage the latex backing. Light shedding in the first few weeks is normal for a new tufted wool pile and settles with regular vacuuming. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner experienced with hand-tufted rugs. Use a non-slip rug pad underneath.

FAQs

What size rug for a living room with a sectional?
Choose 9x12 ft or 10x14 ft so the front legs of the whole sectional sit on the rug.

Is navy a good colour for a family home?
Yes. The deep blues and blended watercolour design are forgiving with pets and kids, and wool naturally helps resist stains.

Is this rug 100% wool and handmade?
Yes. The pile is 100% pure New Zealand wool with no other fiber, and the rug is handmade by hand-tufting — our artisans punch every strand through the foundation cloth by hand. It is not machine-made.

What is the difference between hand-tufted and hand-knotted?
A hand-knotted rug is built knot by knot on a loom and has no glued backing. A hand-tufted rug, like this one, is made by punching wool through a foundation cloth with a hand-held tufting tool, then finished with a latex and cloth backing. Tufting allows smooth colour blends and painterly abstract designs.
