Why Heriz Serapi rugs last generations

Care

Vacuum weekly with the beater bar off. Rotate every six months for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean white cloth. Professional wool cleaning every 3–5 years. Use a felt-and-rubber rug pad.

How red is the rust border?

A warm terracotta-brick, not a bright fire red. Next to the navy it reads deep and slightly earthy. We'll send daylight video on request before you buy.

Will this work in a dining room?

It's one of the best choices for one. The dark field and dense pattern conceal crumbs and the occasional spill, and hand-knotted wool takes chair movement far better than a flat weave. Size up to 9x12 for a six-seat table so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.

Is this a genuine Persian rug?

It's a genuine hand-knotted rug woven in the Persian Heriz Serapi design tradition, made in India — the same construction method, the same design lineage, at loom-direct pricing. We never describe our rugs as antique or Iranian-woven, because they aren't.
