Deep emerald, lit from inside by antique gold. The field is a saturated forest green that shifts between bottle and pine depending on the light, scattered with stepped palmettes and star medallions in old gold, blush, lilac-grey and cream. A wide oatmeal border carries the same village vocabulary of birds, figures and flowering stems, so the whole rug feels drawn by hand rather than laid out on a grid.

Why Emerald Green Works in 2026 Interiors

Green has quietly become the new neutral, and this is green with a spine — not a washed sage, but a proper jewel tone that gives a room depth the moment it goes down. Emerald and antique gold is a heritage pairing: it flatters brass, aged leather, cognac timber and cream plaster, and it makes white walls look intentional instead of unfinished.

  • A saturated ground hides more traffic and soil than any ivory rug will
  • Works standing alone on wide-plank oak, or layered over natural jute for a collected look
  • Dusty jewel tones are one of the defining directions in 2026 interiors

Handmade Craftsmanship

Woven by hand in the Bhadohi–Mirzapur weaving belt of India. Ten stages separate raw fleece from a finished rug: sorting, carding, spinning, dyeing, graphing, knotting, washing, stretching, hand-clipping and finishing.

  • 100% New Zealand wool pile on a cotton foundation
  • Approx. 100 KPSI · low pile · no latex or cloth backing
  • Integrated fringe, part of the warp, never sewn on
  • Natural abrash across the pile is hand-dyeing, not a flaw

Where to Put It

Dining room: the natural home for this one — 9x12 or 10x15 so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. Study or library: 8x10 against dark timber and full bookshelves. Living room: 8x10 for front legs on, 10x14 for all legs on. Bedroom: 9x12 under a king. Hallway: 2.5x10, 3x9 or 3x15 runner. Round formats from 4x4 to 8x8 suit a breakfast nook or a round entry table.

Custom Sizes & Trade Orders

Because each rug is graphed for your order, a custom width or length simply changes the drawing, not the craft. Every size and shape in this design is made to order — oversized, round, square and runner formats included. Interior designers and trade clients can request pricing and CAD-friendly dimensions through our custom rug page.

Care

Keep it simple — weekly vacuuming with the beater bar off, spills blotted (never rubbed) the moment they happen, and a 180° rotation once a year. A wool-safe professional wash every 3–5 years is enough for a lifetime of use, and a felt-and-rubber pad protects the foundation.

FAQs

Will the green fade?
The dyes are colour-fast, but any wool rug left in years of direct afternoon sun will soften. Rotating it once a year keeps that ageing even and attractive rather than patchy.

How dark is the emerald really?
Deep enough to read as a colour rather than a neutral, but not black-green. In daylight the gold and blush motifs lift the whole field considerably.

Is a green rug hard to decorate around?
Less than people expect. Treat it as a neutral, keep upholstery in cream, camel or oatmeal, and let the rug carry the colour by itself.

Is it safe for kids and pets?
Yes — 100% natural wool, no latex backing, no synthetic blend.

Do you ship to the USA?
Yes — shipped worldwide from our workshop in India with tracked delivery to all 50 states. See our shipping policy and returns policy.
