Fine black, olive-green and rust lines trace a loose grid across a warm sand-beige field — a mid-century modern rug hand-tufted in 100% pure New Zealand wool by skilled artisans.
Why This Rug Works in Your Room
- Warm sand beige is the 2026 replacement for cool grey — it makes a room feel calm and inviting.
- Thin linear accents add a designer touch without overwhelming the space.
- Black, olive and rust pick up walnut, leather, plants and terracotta in mid-century and Japandi rooms.
Perfect For Every Room
In living rooms, a 5x8 suits smaller spaces and an 8x10 anchors a full seating group. In bedrooms, a 6x9 or 8x10 extends around a queen bed. In dining rooms, a 9x12 frames a 6-seat table. For hallways, our 2.5x10 or 3x9 runners carry the same fine lines.
Handmade Craftsmanship
This rug is 100% handmade by hand-tufting in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur rug belt of India. Our artisans draw the design onto a foundation cloth stretched on a frame, then punch every strand of 100% pure New Zealand wool through the cloth by hand with a tufting tool. When tufting is complete, the back is coated with latex and a secondary cloth backing is glued on to lock the pile firmly in place. Finally, the pile is hand-clipped so the fine lines stay crisp against the soft field. Gentle tonal variation in the sand-beige wool gives the field a warm, natural movement — a sign of true handwork, not a defect.

Made to Order & Delivery
Every rug is made to order. From order to your door takes about 25-30 days (tufting, backing, finishing and shipping to the USA).
Care
Vacuum regularly without a beater bar and rotate the rug every 6 months for even wear. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub. Keep the rug dry: do not soak, steam-clean or wet-wash it, as excess moisture can damage the latex backing. Light shedding in the first few weeks is normal for a new tufted wool pile and settles with regular vacuuming. For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner experienced with hand-tufted rugs. Use a non-slip rug pad underneath.
FAQs
What style is this rug?
It is a mid-century modern / minimalist design — a warm neutral field with fine linear accents. It suits mid-century, Japandi, Scandinavian and transitional homes.
What size for under a coffee table?
For a sofa and two chairs, choose 8x10 ft so the front legs of each seat sit on the rug. In a small room, a 5x8 ft works under the coffee table.
Is this rug 100% wool and handmade?
Yes. The pile is 100% pure New Zealand wool with no other fiber, and the rug is handmade by hand-tufting — our artisans punch every strand through the foundation cloth by hand. It is not machine-made.
What is the difference between hand-tufted and hand-knotted?
A hand-knotted rug is built knot by knot on a loom and has no glued backing. A hand-tufted rug, like this one, is made by punching wool through a foundation cloth with a hand-held tufting tool, then finished with a latex and cloth backing. Tufting allows a soft, even pile and crisp, clean lines.
