One blush Oushak design, thirty-one sizes, woven to order. From a 2x3 bedside mat to a 12x18 great-room piece, plus rounds, squares and hallway runners — all in the same dusty rose and plum palette, the same New Zealand wool, the same knot count. Order the size your room actually needs instead of settling for what happens to be in stock.
Size Guide by Room
Undersizing is the most common and most expensive rug mistake. Work from the furniture, not from the floor:
- 4x6 / 5x7 — entryways, reading corners, bedside placement, small home offices
- 5x8 / 6x9 — apartment living rooms, foot-of-bed under a queen, dressing rooms
- 8x10 — the US standard. Front legs of sofa and chairs land on the rug; also correct under a queen bed with walk-off space on three sides.
- 9x12 — all furniture legs on. Correct under a king bed, and the minimum under a six-seat dining table so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.
- 10x14 / 12x15 / 12x18 — open-plan living, great rooms, large dining rooms, double-height spaces
- Rounds 4x4 to 8x8 — round dining tables, breakfast nooks, entry vestibules, nursery corners
- Squares 4x4 to 8x8 — square rooms, landings, under a square coffee table grouping
- Runners 2.5x10, 2.5x15, 3x9, 3x15 — hallways, galley kitchens, alongside a bed
Two formulas worth memorising — living room: seating group plus 24 inches on every side. Dining room: table length plus 60 inches.
Construction
- Hand-knotted, approx. 100 knots per square inch (KPSI)
- 100% New Zealand wool pile on a cotton foundation
- Low pile — clears interior doors and lets dining chairs slide
- No latex or cloth backing; pattern readable on the reverse
- Integrated fringe, part of the warp

Pattern Scaling
The design is redrawn for each size band rather than simply cropped, so a 4x6 carries a proportionally scaled version of the same field and border. Motifs never look cut off or crowded, and a runner will visually match a field rug of the same design in an adjoining room.
Custom & Oversized
Need 11x16, a stair runner to match, or an odd-shaped landing? We weave to your exact measurements. Send dimensions and we will quote.
Care
Vacuum weekly without a beater bar, rotate every 6–12 months, blot spills immediately, and use a rug pad — especially under dining tables. Professional wash every 3–5 years.
FAQs
8x10 or 9x12 for my living room?
If your seating group plus 24 inches on each side exceeds 8x10, go to 9x12. When you are genuinely between the two, size up.
How accurate are the dimensions?
Handmade rugs can vary up to 6 inches from the stated size — normal and expected for hand-knotted construction.
Are large sizes made differently?
Same loom, same knot count — oversized pieces are simply woven by a larger team over a longer period.
Lead times?
Approx. 30 days for 5x8 and 6x9, 40–45 days for 8x10 and 9x12, 50–65 days for 10x14 and above.
Is shipping free on large rugs?
Yes — free tracked delivery to all 50 US states, oversized pieces included.
